Our Mission

Hoofed and Emergency Response Operations (H.E.R.O.) Grounds exists to protect horses and other large animals when wildfires, floods, and disasters threaten our community. From the Dianne Jacob Lakeside Equestrian Park in Lakeside, we coordinate rapid evacuations, operate emergency staging grounds, and train everyday people to become confident large animal responders.

If you have horses, cows, donkeys, or other livestock that need emergency assistance, our trained response teams are ready to help. Submit a rescue request and we’ll coordinate transportation, staging, and care.
